K9 Training: Part One

The nose, the track and the bite.

Once the foundation is built, the real disciplines begin. Built the way police, military and search programs train, this book covers scent and protection work.

• How dogs actually smell, and how to use it
• Tracking and trailing, from first footstep to advanced problems
• Detection with a trained final response, and area, building and article search
• Search and rescue, and the honest limits of human-remains work
• The full protection curriculum, starting with law and liability
